about us

We're from the Syracuse, NY, area and started dating when we went to BYU-Idaho for college. We were married December 2008 and have a daughter, Sophie. We will be welcoming a new baby in November 2013! We currently live in Mason, Ohio, near lots of family! Drew is working at Liberty Mutual Insurance as an Auto Claims Adjuster. Carissa is now a stay-at-home wife and momma! We know there's more in store for us in our future, and we say, "Come what may and love it!"

Two and a half Barrons

We're having a baby!

In early April, Drew and I found out that we're adding to our family... this time it won't be in cat form. We're bringing a little one into the world!

I just got home from a doctor appointment and was able to see our little sweetheart via ultrasound. We heard baby's heart beat (158 bpm) and even saw quite a bit of movement from our little wiggly one! While going to a high-risk doctor, I have the chance to get ultrasounds more often than normal, so this was my second already! We are very blessed to have doctors who are so willing to learn about my condition to better help me through this pregnancy.

About my pregnancy so far:
  • How far along? 12 weeks, end of 1st trimester
  • Weight: down 2 pounds!
  • Symptoms: Nausea. Constant appetite and constant need to run to the bathroom... both of which are already really annoying! Hyper-sensitive sense of smell. Tired... All. The. Time!
  • Food aversions: Most vegetables and meats. Tomatoes. Garlic.
  • Food cravings: Water. Milk! Yogurt. Popsicles or anything cold and fruity, especially smoothies. Corn on the cob! Soft pretzels. Rold Gold pretzels dipped in mustard. : )
  • Other cravings: Activity! (Yeah, I know, it sounds weird, but my body wants it.) Sleep and rest. I want it all day, every day... which kind of conflicts with the activity that I want so badly.

About baby:

  • Baby measured 5.38 centimeters (a little over 2 inches) today, so, about the size of a plum!
  • Heart rate is 158 beats per minute and is like music to our ears!
  • Almost all of baby's systems are fully formed and will be growing bones soon.
  • Nail beds are forming on fingers and toes.
  • Baby's skin and head are covered in little hair follicles!
  • Baby is due on December 12, 2011!

You can see baby's head and profile!

Drew has been such a huge help through everything. He is trying to be as understanding as possible and has been doing his Daddy reading. He works so hard around the apartment when he knows I'm feeling sick or tired. Drew cooks dinner, runs errands, and massages my back. He speaks so sweetly to me and tells me constantly how happy he is that we're going to be Mommy and Daddy!

We'll keep updates going as often as possible for all who don't go to my facebook page.

We love you! We are so very excited about our baby and hope to hear from you!

Last day of school 2011

This school year has been a great one! I worked with some amazing kids, and I will miss them so much! They are all moving up to the Jr. High next school year.

Unfortunately, because seventh grade will no longer be in our school, I lost my position as a Paraprofessional (Special Ed. Aide). I worked there for two years, and I can honestly say they were the most rewarding times of my life.

Here are some pictures of some of my students on the last day of school!

Well, my sweet students, I will miss you!! Good luck in Jr. High!

Good-bye Cicero, Hello Mason!

The Drogowskis are moving from Cicero, NY, to Mason, OH!

For those who may not have heard, my dad got a new job down in the Cincinnati area! He is already hard at work saving the world and living in an apartment while my mom and brothers get the house in NY ready for selling. Scott and Nate are also finishing out their 6th grade school-year.

The Cicero house is now up for sale and my parents are hard at work finding a home in Mason to suit their needs. Here are some pictures of the house taken by the Realtor:

Doesn't it look great? Wonderful job, Drogowskis!

Now, let's get this puppy sold!!

Finally!

I'm finally posting some pictures from our trip to New York for Christmas! It's been awhile, but I thought I'd still put 'em up!

Enjoy!

We went to the skating rink to watch my little brothers, Scott and Nathan, at open skating.

They're too darn cute!

Scott

Nate, coming in for a landing!

Drew and I also went to Delmonico's with his mom, dad, and brother. It was great!

I wish I had more pictures from Christmas... I am just terrible with remembering to take my camera anywhere!
