Sophie and I have been keeping busy outside this fall! She loves being outside - and it makes for good nap times, too! :)
We went to 2 pumpkin patches with my dad. Sophie LOVED the "punkins" and ran up and down the aisles of pumpkins over and over and over. It's been over a month since we went, and Sophie still talks about "Jaja! Punkins!" all the time. So cute!
Sophie loves her Nanette! I couldn't help but snag a photo while we were at church...
The Ackleys and Cryders (my aunt's family - including this sweet Nanette) have since moved to Utah and we are upset about it! Hopefully we'll see them if they come visit their other family in the area.
Sophie and I also took a trip to an awesome apple orchard with my family! Poor Drew has to work all the time, but my family has been so wonderful to include us in fun activities like this.
Sophie loves apples. This girl ate 3 apples out in those fields and still wanted more after her nap that day. Crazy kid! She loved holding hands with her Gaga and following Jaja around and pulling apples off the trees.
Our ward had a fun family-friendly Halloween party this past weekend! There was a chili contest (we ate until we were stuffed!), a dessert contest, Trunk or Treat, and a costume contest! Sophie makes the perfect "Boo" from the movie Monsters, Inc., so we decided to go with that theme as a family! I put together our costumes for less than $12 - thrift store shirts, a little paint and glue, and some creative thinking, and we had some very homemade but fun costumes!
This is Bradley, Soph, and Reece: all we wanted was a cute kid photo, but it ended up not going well! Bradley's elbow popped out of its socket, Sophie didn't want to be near a crying (and completely justified in it) Bradley, and all 3 of them were just getting so sleepy.
Though the pictures didn't turn out the way we wanted, these kiddos were the cutest ones at the party! (I'm super biased.)
Bradley went as a car mechanic (his costume sewn by his very talented momma, Jill), Sophie as Boo, and Reece as a very stinkin' cute owl.
Here's Soph with her Trunk or Treat haul! She got about 10 pieces of candy (we stopped before going to all of the trunks - 10 is more than enough for her) and she was so happy to have her "cheats" (treats) in her "but-tet" (bucket).
And now we're playing the waiting game. Baby boy is due in 10 days (November 8th). TEN DAYS! Ahh!!! I feel like there are still a million things to do before we bring him home. I know whenever that time comes, though, everything will be just fine. I'm a little nervous about labor and delivery. I've never experienced going into labor naturally... I've done the reading... I've talked with my doctors... I "know what to expect"... but I'm still nervous! Plus, this baby is HUGE compared to what Sophie was at birth. We had an ultrasound on Friday to check his size and he weighed approximately 6 lbs 13 oz. HOLY COW. Sophie was only 4 lbs 2 oz. I'm not sure I'll know what to do with such a big baby, especially delivering someone so large. Yikes!
I'll post again once he's born. But, until then, I'll be keeping my little snippets of updates on Facebook. Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers that all goes well, please!
Love you all!
